About the Program
With generous support from NAIC member firms, NAIC offers compensated fellowships for students to contribute directly to the association’s ongoing work and initiatives. Fellows play a meaningful role in advancing NAIC’s mission to expand diversity within the alternative investment industry while gaining firsthand exposure to the growing and influential diverse-owned investment sector.
What You’ll Learn
The NAIC MBA Fellowship Program provides opportunities for participants to:
- Gain a deep understanding of the trends and opportunities in the alternative investment sector, including private equity (buyout, growth & expansion), venture capital, hedge funds, and real estate
- Help NAIC achieve its mission of increasing the flow of capital to diverse-owned alternative investment firms through education, advocacy, and other innovative programs and initiatives
- Conduct research on the capital allocator landscape, NAIC Member Firms, emerging manager programs, and other relevant subject areas
- Complete data aggregation and develop compelling presentations that highlight reasons for investing with diverse-owned managers
- Research the potential new member pipeline and enhance the NAIC membership experience
- Develop a database of top diverse talent for relevant opportunities on portfolio company boards, as operating executives, and other positions relevant to our membership and stakeholder base

Who Should Apply
The MBA Fellowship Program is designed for second-year MBA students with a focus on finance who aspire to build careers in the alternative investment industry, including private equity and related sectors. Candidates from historically underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation
The MBA Fellowship is an 8-month compensated Fellowship, and Fellows are required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week on NAIC assignments. Fellows are compensated at a monthly rate of $3,000, or a total program stipend of $24,000.
The Fellowships are all remote positions, and travel is only required for occasional NAIC meetings. Travel expenses will be covered by NAIC.
