Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Felipe Gatos is an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School with a background in investment banking, corporate strategy, and private equity operations. Prior to business school, Felipe was part of Capital One’s internal strategy team, where he led strategic intelligence efforts focused on competitive positioning and long-term growth planning. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at Citi, covering Latin America, and later joined Deloitte’s Strategy & Operations practice, advising Fortune 100 clients on performance improvement and market expansion. Most recently, he worked at Bain & Company’s Private Equity Group as an MBA summer associate, supporting value creation efforts for institutional investors.
Felipe is passionate about making alternative investments more inclusive and accessible, particularly for underrepresented professionals and students. He has a strong interest in impact investing and climate-resilient finance, especially in emerging markets.
In his personal time, Felipe enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring new cuisines. He holds a BA in Economics and an MS in Finance from the University of Florida.
