Afua Asantewaa is a dual-degree MBA and MPA candidate at Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and the Harvard Kennedy School. She began her career in investment operations at Guggenheim Partners where she helped to establish their shared services center. She later transitioned to business transformation consulting at IBM. She has experience in human capital management, performance improvement financial strategy, and venture capital. While in school, she managed financial operations for The Sadie Collective, a non-profit, and was a venture associate at Unshackled Ventures, Big Red Ventures, and Rough Draft Ventures. This past summer, she worked on Google’s people operations strategy.

Afua earned her Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in accounting and finance and a minor in African and Black Diaspora studies. As a native Chicagoan with ties to Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire, Afua is passionate about creating opportunities for people across the African diaspora.
