President & CEO

Robert L. Greene is a distinguished leader in the private equity and alternative investment industry, serving as President & CEO of the National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC). Under his leadership, NAIC has solidified its role as the premier industry association advocating for diverse-owned alternative asset class investment firms.

Bob’s extensive experience spans investment management, finance, corporate governance, and policy advocacy. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Virginia Retirement System (VRS), the fourteenth largest public pension plan in the nation with more than $100 billion in assets and over 600,000 beneficiaries.

Earlier in his career, Bob was Director of Private Equity at Arthur Andersen’s Transaction Advisory Services Practice, where he provided due diligence and advisory services to some of the nation’s largest private equity firms, including Allied Capital, Texas Pacific Group, and The Carlyle Group. His deep expertise in investment strategy and risk management has made him a sought-after voice in finance and economic policy.

Recognized as a thought leader in entrepreneurship, finance, and governance, Bob was inducted into The Wall Street Hall of Fame, is a recipient of the INROADS Legacy Award, and was featured in the Power 100 List of the most influential advocates. He is a frequent speaker at global finance and investment forums, including the SuperReturn, Pension Bridge, WHOOLC, the Robert Toigo Foundation, and the Executive Leadership Council.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). He is a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the National Eagle Scout Association, and serves on the National Executive Board (NEB) of the Boy Scouts of America.
