Felina Martin

Director of Programs & Initiatives

Felina Martin has extensive experience in program design, strategic planning, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She leads NAIC’s robust array of industry leading programs, including Women in Alternatives, NextGen, LP Meetup, ENGAGE, and Institutional Investor Roadshows. Felina is particularly interested in closing the knowledge gap that exists for diverse entrepreneurs to secure capital from private investors and increasing the number of diverse women entering the alternative investment sector.

Felina is the former Director of the HUB for Community Innovation, a $20 million investment start-up nonprofit organization in Augusta, Georgia and previously served as the Executive Director of the Institute for Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence (INIE) in Tallahassee, Florida that served over 2,400 organizations in the nonprofit sector.

Felina previously owned an event production and planning company in Tallahassee, Florida for 16 years, in which her team planned innovative events for clients ranging from government municipalities to universities to Greek organizations. Her talents and achievements have been recognized in various sectors including BizBash Florida Magazine as Event Planner of the Year and SBDC of Florida Regional Volunteer of the Year.

Felina’s career in the nonprofit industry spans over 2 decades with leadership roles with the YMCA, March of Dimes, and Florida Chamber of Commerce. She earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of West Florida.

Felina is the Co-CEO of be. in_ marketing, an event marketing company that she launched with her son in December 2022. She is also the designer and artist behind pamoja na, a wearable art clothing line, and the author of a newly published memoir, Sunshine in Hell.
