Named CIO of the largest public pension fund in the United States in February 2022, Musicco leads an investment office of nearly 400 employees and manages investment portfolios totaling approximately $500 billion. Before joining CalPERS, Musicco led RedBird Capital Partners’ Canadian investment business. She previously held several positions at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where she led its public equity investment team and oversaw the private equity fund and co-investment program.
The conversation will include an update on CalPERS’ $1 billion commitment to the diverse marketplace. Earlier this year, CalPERS teamed up with NAIC partners TPG and GCM Grosvenor to help identify opportunities in the global markets that might otherwise be overlooked and generate returns for the pension fund while supporting the next generation of investor entrepreneurs in the private markets.
