Preqin 2023 Women in Alternatives Report

Progress on gender diversity in alternative assets continues to be incremental. According to Preqin’s recently released Women in Alternatives report, the proportion of women working in the alternatives industry improved marginally to 21.3% from 20.9% the previous year. But greater discrepancy exists at the senior level, as women account for just 13.6% of the senior workforce. The report highlights which asset classes and regions are showing the most improvement in terms of representation, how gender disparity appears in the workplace, and which organizations are using data and policy changes to improve diversity.
SBA Accepting Applications for Small Business Lending Company License

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is accepting Small Business Lending Company (SBLC) licenses for the first time in over 40 years. New applicants may apply from June 1- July 31, 2023. SBA approves Small Business Lending Company Licenses for selected non-depository lenders to increase responsible small business lending. An SBLC license allows the lending organization to utilize government guarantees when underwriting small business loans to reduce the level of risk to the lender and cost to the borrower.
