Cravins leads the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) in serving the nation’s 9.7 million minority business enterprises. As a former member of the Louisiana House of Representatives and Louisiana State Senate, Cravins represented hundreds of businesses – many of which were minority-owned – and advocated on behalf of these ventures after the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

During his tenure as Chief Counsel for the United States Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Cravins played a vital role in the successful passage of the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010. He also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the National Urban League, where he led entrepreneurial initiatives and spearheaded its corporate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program. Additionally, Cravins is a decorated U.S. Army Major in the District of Columbia Army National Guard Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps.
