RMA Group of Companies (“RMA”), a portfolio company of OceanSound Partners, today announced that it has acquired Coating Specialists and Inspection Services, Inc. dba CSI Services, Inc. (“CSI”), a specialty coating inspection services business based in Santa Clarita, CA. Following the previously announced merger with Western Technologies (“WT”), the acquisition of CSI is RMA’s second transaction as it executes an acquisition-driven growth strategy to build a national test and inspection services platform for critical infrastructure end-markets. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 2004, CSI provides specialty inspection services of protective paints and linings used to prevent corrosion of critical infrastructure assets, including water storage tanks, bridges, wastewater treatment plants, and other safety critical assets. CSI’s team of certified and highly qualified inspectors leverage technology to provide on-site inspection, water tank diving inspection, and various consulting services throughout an asset’s lifecycle. CSI serves a range of end-markets, including water, wastewater, transportation, marine, and defense, ensuring customers avoid expensive replacements, maintenance, or structural failures. CSI’s principals, Pat Sweeney and Todd Tendler, will continue to lead the business as members of the RMA management team.
“Government and commercial customers require specialty coating inspection services to ensure the integrity and safety of their infrastructure assets,”said Ed Lyon, RMA’s CEO. “CSI has developed an impressive reputation of providing coating inspection services with high-quality and professionalism across several end-markets in California, Hawaii, and the western United States. I am delighted to welcome the CSI team to the RMA Group of Companies. The acquisition enhances RMA’s portfolio test and inspection service capabilities and enables significant cross-sell opportunities across the combined customer base of RMA, WT, and CSI.”
“We are thrilled to begin the next phase of our journey as an RMA company,”said Pat Sweeney. “Supported by RMA’s contractor relationships, business development resources, and corporate infrastructure, CSI will be able to accelerate our growth trajectory and serve a wider set of clients across additional end-markets and geographies. We look forward to shared future success as part of the RMA platform.”
“This acquisition was enabled by the many years of hard work from CSI’s talented team of inspectors and engineers,”said Todd Tendler. “Having previously worked with the RMA team several times, we believe the two firms have highly compatible cultures. We expect a seamless integration process that will enable new professional development and growth opportunities for our employees with no service interruptions for our clients.”
