Robert L. Greene

Mr. Greene is President & CEO of the National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC). Mr. Greene is principally responsible for executing the association’s strategy and achieving its strategic objectives through advocacy, member services, and the development of strategic alliances. Since 1970 NAIC has served as the industry association representing diverse-owned private equity firms and hedge funds. At present NAIC’s members manage more than $35 billion in assets.

In addition to his leadership of the NAIC, Mr. Greene serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Virginia Retirement System (VRS), a $75 billion public pension plan based in Richmond, VA. Mr. Greene has served on a number of committees of the board including the Audit Committee (Chairman), Administration & Personnel Committee, and Investment Policy Committee.

Previously, Mr. Greene was Director of Private Equity with Arthur Andersen’s Transaction Advisory Services Practice where he provided due diligence and other advisory services to some of the largest private equity firms in the nation, including Allied Capital, Texas Pacific Group and The Carlyle Group.

Mr. Greene, who earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, holds lifetime memberships in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., the National Eagle Scout Association, and the National INROADS Alumni Association.
